Are you a guitarist who wants to learn the piano ? (This course is for guitarists only . In this course, I teach piano in the most beneficial possible way to guitarists ). If you are not a guitarist , this course is not for you. The piano will offer INNUMERABLE benefits to ANY musicians, and it will make you a WAY BETTER guitarist that you will EVER be! Trust me, because that's exactly what happened to me. I have been practicing guitar seriously for YEARS, and I was learning a lot. But then I started learning the piano, and my guitar playing level shot through the roof. This is an INTENSE and FAST PACED course.  I don't want to waste a SINGLE minute of your time. I don't hit 'record' and fill my course with 10 hours of mostly ramblings, ifs, buts, maybes, fluff, uhm and ah, and extraneous noises (I myself cannot stand any of that in an online course). It's easy enough to fill in 10 hours if one doesn't edit out useless stuff out. I do edit every second. It takes me up to 40 minutes to edit a video that will be only 2 minutes long. I am more about content and substance than how things look. Every single word I say must have tutoring weight. Also, I don't believe in 'beginner to advanced' courses, most of them are superficial and bland and will turn you into a MEDIOCRE jack of all trades and master of NONE. Learning a bit of this and a bit of that with no real depth will only turn you into a mediocrity. You need to focus on ONE specific thing at a time, step by step, LASER FOCUS style, and it takes more than a few minutes to cover a single topic in depth. This attitude changed EVERYTHING for me. Sounds like fluff, but it's not. I never teach anything I have not learned really well, myself. Do you want to learn powerful music theory through the piano that most guitarists will NEVER understand?  Do you want to be in TOTAL CONTROL about all your musical activities, whether it's playing in a band or writing and performing your solos and pieces, or performing standard repertory, or ANY combination of all this? Do you want to learn to be a fearless guitarist ? There's a lot more to music theory than learning some boring bits in a confused and haphazard manner from most guitar players, and forgetting it. Most of them learn it ineffectively, and even more of them teach it ineffectively. We will learn powerful music theory at the piano, which, ironically, will be a HUGE boost for your guitar playing. The guitar fretboard makes no visual sense, and it’s tuning, even less. But the piano keyboard fixes all these problems. I will guide you step-by-step. I will tell you not only exactly what to do, and how to do it, but also what to AVOID doing. These are mistakes that only guitarists will make. As I happen to be BOTH a guitarist and a pianist, I am in a very unique position to know every do's and do not's about the piano, as related to guitarists. A pianist doesn't know all this other stuff about the guitar, but I do, which means I can tailor-made learning at the piano, for the guitarist, and pick and choose what are the things that will serve them best as musicians. At the end of this course you will have learned powerful music theory that will seriously BOOST your musicianship on guitar. Let's start today. Don't wait. Let me guide you through the secrets of this beautiful and fascinating instrument: the piano. PS. You have probably noticed that, unlike some other sellers, I am not selling hundreds of courses (and this is not at all a criticism about them or their courses!). In part this is because I haven’t been too long here on Udemy, but also because I vet the students /customers more, i.e. I do not teach complete beginners (not that there is anything wrong with them), and I never write “This course is for ALL” and “no requirements needed”. This course has requirements, and I am not trying to appeal to all. At all. This basically means that I sell less courses, but also that as a smaller seller I can and will answer to ANY questions you have about anything mentioned in the course. Just post ANY questions in the Q&A section of the course, and I promise I will answer to all, as helpfully as I can. Not only that, the best questions will be examined in a new video! If I were selling hundreds of courses, I could not answer more than a couple of student’s questions. But because I am a “smaller guy”, I can do what I mentioned above. And that is to your advantage. :) ——

JazzKids makes learning the piano and improvisation fun! JazzKids®, created by Berklee College of Music graduate Willie Myette, creates method books that show beginning improvisers how to improvise at the piano. Even if you have never improvised before, JazzKids makes it easy to learn. The step-by-step instruction and jam-with-the-band tracks make learning how to improvise fun and easy. Not that interested in Jazz? Well, guess what, JazzKids now features many different styles of music including Jazz, Blues, Pop, Latin, Rock and Klezmer! You can learn how to improvise over these different styles while learning how to read and translate those pesky chord symbols into a full arrangement. JazzKids has been used with students around the world for the past decade. How Does JazzKids Encourage Improvisaton? Rhythm - rhythm is key to successful improvisation because without an interesting rhythm, your improvisation will sound "flat". JazzKids creates a strong rhythmic foundation by teaching students how to read and vocalize rhythms. This is important because if you can "sing" a rhythm, you can play it. Students will then utilize the rhythms that they have been practicing in their own improvisation and compositions. Ear Training - it is important to really hear music to be able to improvise. The ear training exercises teach students to discern small differences in rhythm and melody which in turn helps them to listen critically while improvising. The Song - the JazzKids pieces are really fun to play. More important, they have been designed to allow a lot of possibility for the student to change what has been written. Often, students learning the JazzKids pieces, will change a note here or there. Sometimes they'll create their own composition or a "spin off" using the piece as a "spring board". Improvisation Exercises - these exercises give students a positive experience in improvisation. A lot of times, when learning to improvise, students are handed a scale and told, "Now improvise." Unfortunately, this works for only a few students. Most of us need further direction and coaching. JazzKids provides this by not only teaching the scales for improvisation, but also by giving written examples and fun play-a-long tracks.
