Course Reviews

  1. Very informative and to the point course. Easy to follow and explains everything in a friendly and understandable way. Loved it!
  2. I have taken a few courses before, but this one is the greatest and most in-depth. Here, everything is explained, from the fundamentals to highly advanced methods.
  3. nice explanation
  4. Course with a lot of examples and step-by-step instructions, helpful in that regard.
  5. Two main comments that caused me to lower the rating:
  6. 1. the purple text in Section 1 is very hard to read;
  7. 2. there is no mention on the risks or cautions in using generated images to create content that may have copyrighted material/characters or from artists that didn't consent on their art being used to train the models. What if you are "AI specialist", create content for a small company, and a large corporation sues the small company for copyright infringement? Will the "specialist" be in legal troubles for not having the proper licensing agreements? Regulations are not clear so there are no current answers: the disclaimer the instructors have in the last section about the "Legality of AI Art" feels weak and misleading and for me it ruined the enjoyment of the course content. Rather than that statement, the instructors could consider adding evidence-based references to research about the ethical use AI (e.g., credit, consent, and compensation) rather than just a message saying that it is not stealing because they think it is transformative enough
  8. EDITED TO ADD: thanks to the instructor for providing some additional thoughts from my initial review. Unfortunately the feedback and links provided are even more questionable than the original "Legality of AI Art" statement included in the course as they are clearly from sources with conflict-of-interest glossing over fundamental ethical considerations. I encourage students to find independent sources to understand the topic, and exercise caution and critical-thinking.
